Er, apparently not – was put right on this by a former ambassador – whatever it says on passport (mine just says ‘Irish’)!

Minnie – In my passport, under heading ‘Nationality/Nationalité’, are the words ‘British Citizen’. I think I’m right in saying that one is only a ‘British Subject’ if you were born and live in one of the few remaining Crown Colonies. Glad you like the journey and the pictures.

Pedant pipes up: oi, Ricky – you’re not a ‘citizen’, you’re a subject. Of HM the Queen, that is (e.g. I’ve got dual nationality so on one hand I’m a British subject, on the other an Irish citizen). Am loving the journey and learning a lot – thank you so much for posting about it and uploading those terrific pix.
